The wine selection is vast, and sometimes it's hard to see the forest for the trees. At Caves de France, we're happy to help you make the right choice. For almost seventy years, we've been selecting wines we fully support. Because we buy directly from the producer, we can not only offer the best price but also tell the true story.
Each winemaker has their own passion, vision, and tradition. Through the close ties we've built with them—often family businesses like us—you'll experience more than just wine with us. You'll taste a history, a story, and a sense of authenticity that lives on in every glass.
Today, you can choose from over a thousand different wines. Of course, at Caves de France, you'll find the great classics from France. Otherwise, we would have stolen our name! But we look further than that. Mr. Ben Cooreman himself sought out quality wines from all over the world. This forced us to add "World Quality Wines" to our name. Countries like South Africa, Chile, New Zealand, Argentina, the United States, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, and Austria are strongly represented in our selection.

Since 1958
Caves de France is a family business with a rich history. Hubert Cooreman and Huguette De Wit founded the business in 1958, driven by their love of wine and art. Their enthusiasm led to rapid growth, and they soon represented a significant number of the major French wine estates, particularly in Bordeaux and Burgundy.
70s to Now
In the late 1970s, the office moved to a historic building on the Grote Markt in Dendermonde. In 1996, Caves de France found its current home in a beautifully restored 18th-century square farmhouse in Schoonaarde. This location not only became the heart of our storage and administrative functions but also became the premier venue for our biannual wine festivals, where winemakers from around the world showcase their wines in a warm, atmospheric setting.
Today, the second generation is at the helm. Ben Cooreman, trained in Burgundy and experienced at renowned estates in Beaujolais, Bordeaux, and Alsace, has brought a fresh dynamism to the company. In addition to traditional châteaux, Caves de France now also focuses on unique, lesser-known regions in France and beyond. More than half a century after its founding, our mission remains unchanged: to offer quality wines with a story, straight from the producer, at a fair price.
